PDO/PLLA Threads

These are not barbed threads and are not an alternative to surgical lifting! Threads made of PDO and PDLLA are biorevitalizing treatments. They are an excellent alternative to mesotherapy, hyaluronic acid, and other revitalizing procedures because they thicken the skin.

Treatment Description:

PDO/PLLA threads are an innovative technique used to improve skin firmness and tightness. Threads are especially recommended for people whose skin is loose, has lost elasticity, or shows signs of sagging. Threads not only provide an immediate lifting effect but also stimulate the skin for natural regeneration and biorevitalization. They can be used by both older and younger people with lax skin.

The procedure involves inserting threads into the selected skin area using a needle. Only a small puncture mark remains, and the threads are fully absorbable and do not cause irritation. The first effect is visible immediately, while the full result appears after about 2 weeks. We use only straight threads – twin or twist – designed to firm the skin. I do not recommend barbed threads. The materials used for the threads are: PDO (polydioxanone, used in surgery for absorbable sutures, fully absorbed within 3–6 months) and PLLA (poly-L-lactic acid, a natural skin stimulator). Both products are safe, well-studied, and popular among people with the first signs of skin laxity.

After the procedure, it is recommended to avoid tanning beds, saunas, and hot baths for a week. Thread treatments are an ideal part of combination therapies with procedures such as mesotherapy or tissue stimulators. This is a minimally invasive procedure, often confused with barbed threads due to concerns about unnatural results.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Which type of thread should I choose?

The amount and type of material used for the threads are selected exclusively in the clinic, based on the condition of your skin and the treatment area. Different parts of the face also require different thread configurations, such as twin or twist.

How many threads do I need?

Depending on your needs, between 20 and 160 threads are used during a single procedure.

When will I see the results?

The effect will depend on the number of threads implanted. Usually, it takes about a month to enjoy the final result.

How long does the result last?

It is important to emphasize whether the treatment is performed alone or as support for other stimulating procedures.

On average, the effect after 2–3 treatments lasts from 6 months up to 2 years.
